San Francisco's Theme Weavers LLC formed in 2006 for the sole purpose of entering the theme song contest for Scharpling & Wurster's legendary comedy radio program, The Best Show on WFMU. The band's winning entry, The Best Theme for The Best Show, became a beloved staple of the program which later left WFMU to become the standalone hit called The Best Show with Tom Scharpling. The band's theme song has been played on air each week for 10 years+ immediately before Tom goes on mic and then also as instrumental bed music played throughout each 3-hour episode.

Fronted by rhythm guitarist/vocalist Anthony Bedard (Hank IV, Icky Boyfriends), the band features the lead guitar work of Andy Oglesby (Hank IV, The Roofies) and a top-shelf assemblage of SF/Oakland scene vet musicians including bassist Ajax Green (The Wrong Words), drummer Russ Blackmar (Tropical Sleep), and keyboardist Alison Levy (Loud Family).

In 2013, The Best Theme for The Best Show had the distinction of getting played during Game 6 of the World Series at Fenway Park by house organist extraordinaire, Josh Kantor.

In January 2015, Theme Weavers made their live debut at the SF Sketchfest Tribute to Scharpling & Wurster. In March 2015, they performed as the house band for the first-ever Scharpling & Wurster Live! shows at the Bell House in Brooklyn and later that summer they toured the west coast as Scharpling & Wurster's live house band.

The band entered the studio in the summer of 2016 to record their debut, Nothing But the Best: The Very Best of Theme Weavers LLC.
