On Curtain of Night, recorded with his new band The Artists, Beach tips his hat in the direction of seminal Memphis songwriter Alex Chilton, amongst others. Michael Beach and the Artists were one of the standout acts of Gonerfest 16 this past Septermber at which they delivered an utterly feral set. We'd seen Michael Beach numerous times over the years but nothing that approached this level of ferocity and world-beating attack. And that was at the beginning of their US tour!
